Many people think that you have to gut a bathroom completely in order to see a big transformation. While starting fresh can be a lot of fun, at Indy Renovation we know that not everyone has the budget to build a bathroom from the floor up. However, you can still update your bathroom with a few quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive fixes.
1. Fresh paint color
If your bathroom paint color is old, outdated, or drab, those walls could use a fresh coat of paint. You’ll be amazed how a new, modern hue can transform your space in just a few hours. If you’re having a hard time picking a color, our home-improvement team recommends that you go neutral (think light gray, white, or tan) or pick something that’s light, calming, and fresh (like a gray-toned blue).
2. New light fixture
Does your current light fixture scream 1980s with its shiny brass? Bring your bathroom into the current decade with a modern fixture that provides plenty of natural-looking light. Avoid fluorescent lighting because it tends to be pretty harsh (and no one wants that first thing in the morning…).
3. Updated hardware
Is your bathroom vanity made from good bones but just looks a bit outdated? One way to avoid replacing your vanity is simply to change the pulls or knobs. You can pick out a modern design that will instantly bring your vanity closer to the current decade. You may also want to consider updating your faucet to a newer, sleeker model.
