3 Bathroom Remodel Design Tips

Remodeling your bathroom is a big undertaking. Even down to the details, every decision matters, and you want to make sure everything comes together in the end to create a calm, relaxing environment. As you embark upon your bathroom remodeling, be sure to consider these design tips from our team at Indy Renovation.

1. Choose colors that calm.

In a bathroom, you want to create a peaceful environment, an oasis from everyday life. However, nothing contradicts the calm quite like the color red or bright orange. According to color experts, if you want to choose a tranquil color, stick with neutrals (beige, white, gray, etc.), gentle blues and greens, or pastels.

2. Select a few upgrades.

A few simple upgrades can turn your bathroom from bland into luxurious. For example, instead of getting a pre-made fiberglass shower shell installed, opt for a custom walk-in shower with beautiful tiles, glass doors, and dual shower head. You may not be able to afford to deck out the entire space; however, a few luxury features like these can make you feel like you’re on vacation in your own home.

3. Consider the layout.

Is the current bathroom layout working for you, or do you wish the toilet was in a different spot or that you had a double sink instead of a single? If so, now is the time to talk to your contractor and plumber about making any major layout changes. All the remodeling plans and details (like ordering the right countertop or floor tiles) depend on the overall layout and what you’d like changed.

At Indy Renovation, we love taking a drab bathroom and turning it into something fabulous. These few tips should get you started, but if you’d like to find out more or get a free, in-home estimate, contact us anytime at (317) 375-4464.
